Typically the lake consists of a jagged 1,255-mile shoreline and surface area of 63,000 acres provide the very best water recreation opportunities in the Eastern U.S.  The Corps of Engineers has begun work on the Wolf Creek Dam Project to make needed repairs to the dam.
